Rail is a central pillar of sustainable, future-oriented mobility. At a time of increasing demand for efficient and environmentally friendly transport systems, coupled with a growing shortage of skilled workers, we are convinced that the railway sector can only maintain its competitiveness against other modes of transport through greater efficiency and effectiveness.
We share the European ambition to view the rail system as one interconnected whole, rather than as individual operations divided by national borders. We believe this system can only realise its full potential if it is harmonised at all levels and existing bottlenecks at the interfaces (for example, at border stations) are overcome.
Interoperability has been a key concept in our industry for many years. In our vision of complete harmonisation and optimal use of available resources, we draw a clear distinction between technical interoperability and personnel interoperability. Technical interoperability refers to the compatibility of railway technical systems (for example, locomotives, train control, or traffic management). Personnel interoperability, on the other hand, means that employees are able to carry out their tasks with consistent safety and efficiency, irrespective of national borders and operational interfaces.
Since our foundation, the Rail Academy Group has stood for the concept of personnel interoperability, which we were the first to introduce as a definition within the European railway sector. We see ourselves as visionaries in building a steadily growing and, above all, sustainable exchange of personnel within European railways. At the same time, we are aware that this can only succeed with strong support from an industry that is often still rigid, yet also eager for innovation. With full commitment, our Academy provides the necessary expertise to ensure this vital support across the railway sector.
As a privately managed enterprise, we put the European Union’s objectives of a common railway system into practice. Since our foundation, we have demonstrated that this development can be achieved sustainably. Our goal is to consolidate, further develop, standardise, and make available to all our clients - regardless of their location - the essential expertise for the safe and efficient implementation of cross-border transport solutions.
Our vision will be fulfilled when the Rail Academy Group is firmly established as a synonym for achievable, sustainable, and safe increases in human resources capacity through more efficient personnel deployment within the railway sector. We want our clients to receive all the necessary services from a single source - and to remain satisfied with this development for decades to come.
